TRANSITION DOES NOT
COME EASY
Text: And
from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth
violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12
Transition can be said to mean a change of position, status
or location. Transition is also the outcome of an encounter with the Most High.
Many people of old enjoyed transition from a bad condition to a good condition.
Everyman in one way or the other needs transition. Some from bad to good; some
from good to better; and others, from better to best.
Why does transition not
come easy?
Transition doesn’t come easy because the Bible states clearly
the people, forces and powers we wrestle against, Ephesians 6:12. And these
forces of spiritual wickedness are never willing to let their captives go. To
enjoy this transition, you need a degree of violence, Matthew 11:12.
Jacob had his name changed after a tussle with an angel. He
paid a price unconsciously, the Bible says the hollow of his thigh got
disjointed, but he didn’t mind, Genesis 32:25
After 3 years and 6 months of famine and drought pronounced
by Prophet Elijah, he prayed with violence and discomforted himself to bring
back rain. It’s a pity that Christians today want changes to come on a platter
of gold.
Even the Israelites did not find it easy gaining their
freedom from captivity. The Bible says God brought them out with a strong hand
which dealt series of blows on the Egyptians. The Israelites had a voice raised
on their behalf (Moses) and they all stood their ground with great
determination to be free; their freedom came. Your freedom is around the
corner, do not give up!
Elisha changed suddenly from being a prophet’s steward into a
highly revered prophet. This transition did not just come cheap.
Let’s quickly learn a sole lesson from blind Bartimaeus. When
Jesus summoned him to be called, the Bible says he threw his robe away and ran
to Jesus, Mark 10:46-50. How much sacrifice can you make just to enjoy this
transition?
Remember, quitting in this your present situation is not an
option.
“if thou faint in the day of
adversity, thy strength is small.”
– Proverbs 24:10.
