ON WHAT DO YOU ANCHOR?

ON WHAT DO YOU ANCHOR?

Text: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Hebrews 6 : 19

An anchor is a tool used to fix a vessel (boat/ship) firmly to the bottom of a sea. The anchor restores stability to a ship/boat in the time of storms. In the absence of an anchor, a vessel may stray away with the tides of the sea.

The life of a man is likened to a vessel (2 Timothy 2:20-22). The world is the sea. The Lord Jesus told us in John 16: 33 that the world is not a bed of roses. Jesus didn't assure us of a smooth ride in life. There will be storms. There will be tribulations. Afflictions may arise. Hurricanes may come too. But you anchor will determine whether or not you will make it through all these torrid periods.

Our Bible text presents the surest and strongest form of anchor. Anchor on Jesus today, and see yourself standing through all these tough times and periods.
