CATCH THOSE FOXES (II)

CATCH THOSE FOXES (II)
(Songs of Solomon 2:15)

The second Fox that destroys vineyard is PRIDE. Pride is a sly one - with many disguises. He is seen best at a distance or in a neighbour’s garden or vineyard. Consequently, it is often overlooked in self. This is a thrifty little fox and if allowed to remain, becomes the mother of self conceit and eats the very core of spirituality out of the heart and life of a Christian. God hates Pride.

Satan was once the most decorated angel in heaven, he was made with the most precious stones and ornaments, but he fell because of his pride.
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst
weaken the nations!” (Isaiah 14:12)
If angels can fall over pride, then we need to be careful and watch our steps.
“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take
heed lest he fall.” (1 Cor 10:12)
To shelter this fox of Pride is so disastrous to our efforts to walk humbly before God.
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth
the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love
mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8)
The way to the Celestial City leads through the earthly Valley of Humility. Let us not allow our personal pride make the walking out of this necessary path to glory any more rocky or difficult than it already is.

Remember, PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL!!!
