HELP IS ON THE WAY

HELP IS ON THE WAY
(Psalms 121:1)

Help means assistance or relief. There is no man that has been made to be an island of himself. At one point in life or the other, humans will definitely need help. But despite the fact that everyone needs help; not everyone gets it and if care is not taken, not everyone will get it. There are different sources of help.

Sources of help…
Help From Man: Of a truth, it is not so good to look to a man for help; even at that, God will not descend to help anyone. But He will simply raise a voice for his own. Many people are suffering today because they lack help from their fellow men even their family members. Many men of old succeeded because help came for them from their fellow men when they needed it.
Take a clue from David and Jonathan’s friendship; how Jonathan rescued David from the fangs of death a countless number of times.
Do you also remember when Saul (before he was crowned king) went out in search of his father’s donkey, if not for human help; your guess is as good as mine.
Do you remember the man sick of palsy (Matthew 9:1-12)? He was borne of his four friends; they saw the great crowd in the house and they broke the roof just to make sure their friend had an encounter with Christ.
There are also men of old that suffered greatly because there was no human to offer the slightest assistance. The lame man at the pool of Bethesda complained about the lack of human help even when divine help was staring him in the face.
But help from man is not good enough. It is not reliable; it can disappoint; men can forget you like the Butler forgot Joseph. Remember the help of man is limited because man himself is limited.

Help From The Devil: It is surprising to know that the devil also offers help to people even saints; but his help and assistance always appear true, real and harmless, but in the end they are detrimental. The devil offers to help people who can no longer wait and depend on the HELP OF THE HELPLESS.
See the help he offered to King Saul after God rejected. Remember Isaiah 31:1; “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help;”

Help From God: This is the true help. Help from man will never come if God is not involved. Little wonder the Psalmist cried out in distress acknowledging God as the principal source of help. Every good and pleasant gift comes from Him. God is the help of the helpless.
His help is dependable, even when we least expect. Psalms 46:1; “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.”
You need just one thing to qualify for His help; JUST TRUST HIM! Trust Him as though your survival depends on Him. Remember, He’s our help in ages past and our hope for many more years to come.
Let these strengthen your faith and trust in the Lord…:

“They that trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion.
It cannot be shaken, it remains forever” – Psalm 125:1

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
Whose hope is the Lord.” – Jer. 17:7

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” – Psalm 118:8

Let us pray!
1.       I worship You Lord for being my help in ages past
2.       Lord, right now, please arise for my help
3.       Dear Jesus, please raise voices on my behalf at places where I can’t speak
4.       God! Help of the helpless! Please connect me to those you have prepared to help me.
5.       Personal prayer points
