THE NEW WINE

THE NEW WINE
(John 2:1-10)

The life of every believer can be likened to a vessel. According to 2Timothy 2:20, there are different types of vessels in the service of the Master; there are vessels of gold, silver, wood and earth (sand/clay). Some vessels are unto honour, some are unto dishonor.

Many men of God have once been filled to overflow. Most of these men of God capitalized and built their ministry around this initial overflow.

The wine in this context can be said to be the Move of The Holy Spirit Himself. The apostles in their own time did not just capitalize on the experience of the Upper Room (Acts 2:1-4), even after the Pentecostal Encounter, they still gathered to be refilled again and again (Acts 4:31).

Some men of God have gone dry! Many of them know it; many are yet to acknowledge it. The anointing is what gives them the unction and not the Holy Spirit. They still go ahead to host crusades, they make a lot of noise but the Spirit of God is not there; their wine is finished! Some of them try to depend on their agility to move their congregation since the move of the Spirit is no longer there. They need to cry for help.

Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour had His own time of recess, not just to sleep but to fill Himself again, to make God realize that He still needs help. Getting this new wine implies that a BRANCH must continue to depend on the VINE for unending nourishment so that the branch can keep growing and flourishing.

Any branch detached from the vine will dry up in no time. A branch cannot survive on its own. As a child of God, you are a vessel that needs not to be empty.

Ask your Maker to refill you and make you whole again. Shalom!
