INCURABLE WOUND

INCURABLE WOUND

Text: “For thus says the LORD: ‘Your affliction is incurable, Your wound is severe. Jeremiah 30:12

Our center of reflection today is UNFORGIVENESS. God did not create humans to live with each other without crossing each other's paths. These things are bound to happen. But what happens moments after someone crossed our path?

Some believers have joined the league of people who keep asking God for forgiveness while they keep nurturing hurts from what someone else had done against them. But what happens to us when we don't forgive others?

Forgiveness gives peace of mind to the forgiven and it gives freedom to the forgiver. The one who has an unforgiving spirit nurses a concealed wound that will never heal.
No amount of prayers and deliverance can heal such wound. Why is this so? This is so because in forgiveness makes people have wounded spirits, and sometimes, such people won't discover/hear what the Comforter wants them to do.

Unforgiveness makes people unnecessarily bitter against their offenders. They just couldn't opt for vengeance because that will be too overt, so they end up jailing the offenders in their hearts.

Unforgiveness is one of those things that makes many believers suddenly become vulnerable to attacks, they have been blown open. It also makes prayer seem ineffective and it makes our services to God unprofitable and unacceptable.

In short, unforgiveness is a silent, deadly killer that starts small, almost unnoticeable. Destroy it before it destroys you!!!
