THE WORD: OUR OFFENSIVE WEAPON
Text: And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Ephesians 6:17

When we talk about offensive weapons, we refer to weapons that can be used to launch attacks. Weapons like guns, swords, bow and arrows are few examples of offensive weapon.

The Bible in Ephesians 6:17, described the Word of God as the Sword of the Spirit. In the artillery of a warrior, the only weapon that can naturally serve two purposes (offensive and defensive) is the sword. It can launch attacks and it can guard against attacks.

With the Word of God, there are no enemies so strong,no obstacles so great that you cannot subdue. The Word of God can serve as a sword for launching close range attacks; it also serves as an arrow for launching long range attacks. Which is the reason why we pray ahead of time.

People tend to belittle this weapon because they don't have the required knowledge. This weapon is so powerful and efficient because it is quick; it is living! It's not just a piece of iron with a wooden handle. It is live! Jesus is the word, He is the weapon. In fact, a sharp sword launches out of His mouth, Revelations 19:15.

The problem with modern day Christians is that, many have not even discovered the efficiency of this weapon. There are some who have heard of the wonders of this weapon, but they don't know how to wield it. There are also some that are even ashamed of this weapon because they don't know how much it can do. I hail from a part of the world where Christians wrap dailies around their Bibles when going for church programmes, probably because they are ashamed of the Word, the Sword.

This weapon is so strong that God honours it more than His name. One amazing thing about this weapon is that; when you know how to wield it, the enemies' camp gets destabilized.

The devil doesn't want believers to know all these because he knows he stands the risk of being banished. He feel accomplished when believers are ignorant of this. Brethren, arise as a champion that you are and wield this sword!
