Topic: ALONE WITH GOD.
Text: Psalm 5:1-3.
Memory Verse: Daniel 6:10; ' Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem he kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God as he did aforetime'.
Many Christians in this present dispensation have not been serious with their personal prayer life. They have quick forgotten that Living a victorious life as a christian is anchored on their personal relationship with God.
Prayer is a communication link that establishes an uninterrupted connection with God. Satan in his own craftiness have designed so many mundane(worldly) activities that would keep so many believers busy from spending quality time with God.
One thing believers must understand is that spiritual growth is impossible without an effective personal prayer life and in-depth study of God's word.
The question I want to ask now is, What does it mean to be 'alone with God?'.
Firstly, it means it is a time set aside by a believer to commune with God.
Secondly, it can also be your personal prayer life. Congregational prayers in the church or group prayers cannot replace your personal prayer. Developing a close intimacy with God, hearing the voice of God and access to divine revelation are one of the numerous benefits that is found in a consistent personal prayer life.
In Psalm 5:1-3, In this passage of the scripture, king David was revealing to believers in general his devotedness to personal prayer. Just like David,
For your personal prayer to get the attention of God, you must thank God and also give God an heart-felt worship, after these you can start your prayers by first confessing all your sins and then finally present your request before God.
One of the reasons, why people like Moses, David, Paul, Peter and so many others recorded a great success during their earthly ministry was because of their commitment and devotedness in their personal prayer life.
In this end time, the devil has succeeded in quenching the fire of God in the life of so many Christians through immoralities and ignorance, but the good news here is that you can determine as a believer to re-ignite the fire of God upon the altar of your soul so that an effective prayer life can begin again.
Action Point: A consistent Personal prayer life connect a believer to the awesome power of God.
