WHERE IS YOUR NAME?
Text: Revelations 20:12-14
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Whether the inhabitants of this world like it or not, an end will come. A day will come in which our deepest secrets will be blown open.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 - "For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
There will be nothing more to hide. But do you know that there are records for everything a man does here on earth. But the most important of those records is the Lamb's Book of Life.
It's a pity that many people only have their names in the book of works and not in the Lamb's Book of Life. Some people are just busy for God but still guilty. Just take a reflection of your life and see where you lag. Many have their names engrave with bottles in the book of other achievements but not in the Book of Life. Moralists have their own names in the book of laws and not in the Lamb's record.
This is just an eye-opener for believers to realize that it goes beyond our works, service and labor in the house of God.
Let's consider the lines of this hymn together...
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound,
And time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of his resurrection share;
When his chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all his wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there
