IT IS NON-NEGLIGIBLE

IT IS NON- NEGLIGIBLE!

Text: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso
confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13

What is non-negligible? When something cannot be neglected or overlooked, then it is non-negligible.

Imagine a white apparel/robe without patters or designs, do you know how adorable and inviting it would be? Now imagine that white apparel having a dried spot of palm oil, mud or ketchup. Will that kind of stain be negligible?

Sin in the life of any man is simply non-negligible! Sin is a big stain; no matter how small it may seem, God will not neglect it. Little wonder David said in Psalms 51:7; "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." He knows how repelling the stains of sin can be.

Joseph knew what a mess it would be if he had laid with Portiphar's wife. He knows how denting it can be.

Saul thought God will neglect his sin of partial obedience, as if that wasn't enough, he offered up sacrifices at the impulse of another disobedience. He kept going down the rails because no sin is negligible.

Oh, it's a pity Samson neglected the word of God through his mother. The angel of the Lord told Manoah's wife that because the baby is a Nazarite unto God, they must all abstain from any unclean thing. Negligence made Samson take out honey from the carcass of a lion. His fall started from there.

If sin is negligible, God would have left Cain untouched for killing his brother Abel; Elisha wouldn't have cursed Gehazi; the Spirit of God wouldn't have departed from Saul; Judas Iscariot wouldn't have committed suicide; Samson wouldn't have died with his enemies because his spiritual alertness would still be at work.

But every sinner today stands a good chance of enjoying grace. Though, you have a very lenient price to pay.

The price to pay is just for every man to admit his/her shortcomings like David did when Nathan opened up the crypt of his secret sin; then repent genuinely. Then your time of ignorance will be blotted out of memory, Acts 17:30.
